What is balance for me, may be overwhelm for you. We have to do what works for us .

How do you balance work and home life?

My balance looks like this:

up at 4:30- catch up on emails, send messages to folks about priorities for the day/week, review anything that needs my approval, do personal or social blog postings .

6:00am – Peloton workout

7:30 am – walk my dog

8:30 am begin work at my desk

Mid day – do something that is not work- take a walk, watch a video, dance

Afternoon- meetings – I do my best work in the morning. I’m better at meetings later in the day.

6:00 Offline for family and fun

Sometimes – I’ll work on work in the evenings or in the weekend. If that works for me.

Bottom line : if I’m stressed out or preoccupied with something work related and it is not work time, I can’t be fully present. So working on the thing will help me balance.
